HAPPY HUMP DAY!

It's official. I'm 24 years old! Yesterday was the best birthday I've had in a long time. Definitely beat out last years birthday spent alone. I went to work, came home and cleaned, Jordan got home and surprised me with flowers, took me to Target to get the lamps I've been wanting for our nightstands, took me out to eat then we made our way over to my parents house for some delicious cheesecake and family time. We finished the day off with some Harry Potter, Big Bang Theory and Duck Commander wine. Whew! It was a happy happy happy birthday!

After getting our lamps, our bedroom is finally starting to come together. I've been slowly working on the guest bedroom as well but that's far from finished!

Here are few pictures of our bedroom.

Looks like someone enjoyed a beer in bed! But I guess he can get away with it since he built our bed and matching nightstands. ;)

Look at this Serena and Lilly Shower Curtain I got from TJ Maxx for $15 that was originally $80! YES! And this picture doesn't give it justice. The grey is beautiful and it was the perfect shower curtain to replace our cheep forest green and brown Walmart one.

Everything is slowly coming together. It was hard to decorate with everything we brought with us from college. Half of it torn, broken and almost all of it was given to us. So it's really exciting to finally start creating our home together with items we choose. My goal is to get the guest bedroom finished by July. After all, we will have a guest staying there for the week. :) Only 2 months away!

Hope you all are having a great week so far!

Blog Gone Wild

Monday, April 28, 2014
As some of you may have noticed, my blog went a little crazy while I was gone. I'm working on fixing everything to get the pictures back up and working but until then it will be on hold for just a bit. And I promise when I say a bit. I'm hoping to get everything fixed and back up and working tomorrow night. After my birthday dinner of course!

Thanks for hanging in there with me through this! Can't wait to post pictures from my fun weekend of wedding showers in Iowa. It was the best weekend I've had in a long time and also one of the most exhausting weekends I've had in a long time!! ;) But I'll hold off and filling you all in.

Talk with you all tomorrow or Wednesday!

Wacky Wedding Weekend

Wednesday, April 23, 2014
Jordan and I had a little date night last night. We enjoyed our favorite pizza place, Tim's Pizza on the square and a round of gator golf. Which Jordan kicked my butt in. We are a very competitive couple so because he beat me he had to drive home! ;)

It was the perfect relaxing night we needed before our busy weekend arrives.

This trip has been planned for over a month and I'm so happy to say IT'S FINALLY HERE!! In a matter of hours, we get to see our friends and family up in Iowa and get some wedding celebrations in as well.

It's going to be a busy weekend. I have my first shower Friday night, Jordan's cousins shower on Saturday morning, Drake Relays and our Couples Shower on Saturday night. It's wacky wedding weekend!

So to get ready, Jordan and I will be running around packing our bags, cleaning the house (because I hate coming home to a messy house), getting everything ready, and packing up the truck so we can roll out of bed and be on our way bright and early in the morning. It will be a busy, busy night to prepare for a busy, busy weekend!

As for me, I'm going to take a break from the blog until the weekend is over. This way I can focus on spending time with my family and friends. On that note, I'm sure I will have PLENTY to update you all on come Monday. Hope you all have a fantastic weekend!!! :)

"Hoppy" Easter!

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE!

I know I haven't posted in a week but it's for perfectly good reasons. My Aunt Lisa was in town! So every waking moment I had was pretty much spent with her. We got some wedding stuff done and a lot of much needed family time. Although, she had to fly out early this morning so she didn't get to spend Easter with us. BUT that might be a blessing for you Lisa! We did yard work to get my parents house rehearsal dinner ready ALL DAY!

But of course it started with an amazingly delicious Easter lunch filled with a lot of laughs. My Mom's grace was one for the books. I believe it went a little something like this..."Dear Lord, thank you for this day, my family, this meal..." She went on and ended it with (but didn't mean to), "Thank you andddd Goodnight!" HAHAHA. We couldn't stop laughing throughout the entire meal.

We only ate in our nice clothes, grabbed a few pictures and then quickly changed into our "work clothes" and got to digging, planting, and cleaning out the pool. Afterall, we are only 2 1/2 months away from the wedding. Eek!

Speaking of the wedding, I decided to go with making my own wedding bouquet. Yes, I'm cheap. I'll be the first to admit it. I found these flowers at Hobby Lobby (and yes they were 50% off! Ha!) and they look and feel like real flowers. It's crazy. They weren't the cheapest things ever but this way I won't have to worry about drying them out to keep them forever.

I'm almost certain people thought I was a crazy lady. At one point I was actually sitting down in the aisle messing with flowers laid out in front of me. Coo coo!

Hope your Easter was as weird and wonderful as ours!

The one with the mustache

Sunday, April 13, 2014
We had a pretty relaxing weekend overall. It's outdoor track season so of course our Saturday was spent at the track. But even after a lot of sitting and cheering, we got to enjoy a dinner with the team while they received their triple crown rings and National awards. That team is seriously full of great guys. So proud to be associated with them all. As for the rest of the weekend, we relaxed, watched movies, cleaned, slept in and enjoyed hanging with our track family today to celebrate a little one year birthday party.

The party was mustache theme. How cute is that? She even had little stick on mustaches laid everywhere and no one hesitated putting them on. Jordan didn't need one though. He has one built in already! ;) It didn't stop me from sticking one on him anyway.

Here's Jax! He was so excited when we started singing Happy Birthday. He even clapped for himself and then destroyed his smash cake! HA! He's the cutest.

He's def. a lot cuter than us. ;) This mustache made me feel like Richard from Friends. Is there rehab for Friends? If so, I must go.

But until I get my fill of Friends again, we are going to relax while the storm hits us.

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Only 2 more days until my Aunt is in town! Yippee!

Who's lame, full of candy, and can't find clothes that match? Kelsey!

So, it's not that I've been crazy busy or anything. It's just that our past week hasn't been the most exciting week of our lives. Not too much fun info. to fill you all in on. Well, besides the fact that I have almost eaten my way through an entire bag of Easter candy. Why did I have to choose a man with no sweet tooth? Gosh. It just means WAY too much candy for little ole me and Mama always taught me not to waste my food! ;)

Although, I did receive some wedding goodies in the mail yesterday! Introducing, our new personalized stamp!

Of course I blocked our street address in this picture but I'm obsessed with it. I want to stamp everything in our house right now! EVERYTHING! But, I'm going to try my best to wait for the Thank You's after the wedding. No promises that I won't use it on my Bridal Shower thank you's too! :-X

Also, I'm SO lame today that I'm even going to share my very mismatched outfit. Yep. I'm that person right now. A little bit of cheetah print, some bling on my collar and bright purple nail polish. I expect to see myself on the cover of Vouge by next week.

(Trust me, the purple is WAY brighter in person. Actually, embarrassingly bright.)

I told you I was lame this week. But, my Aunt Lisa will be in town from Atlanta next week so look for a MUCH more exciting blog post soon to come! WOO HOO!

Hope you all had a fantastic Thursday! :)

Life's a box of chocolates!

It's been a year since we got engaged, 6 1/2 years since we started dating and what feels like forever until we will finally get to be husband and wife. Except not really. 95 days to be exact. Anyways, that's not the point. The point is that I feel like Forrest Gump on the longest run of my life or one of my Dad's track athletes making that final turn to the straight away. I can see the finish line. Come on July! I'm ready to marry this wonderful man and have everyone I love in one room!

But until that day comes, I'm still running and checking things off the list.
Invitations? Check.
Dessert table? Check.
Men's attire? Check.
Wedding dress alterations? AH!

So what's left? Uh, like a million things. I'm just glad 14 old me forgot about that "great" idea of becoming a wedding planner.

We are tired, cut, rounded out...GETTING MARRIED!

Wednesday, April 2, 2014
After trying to get my invitations printed from three different printing company's, I finally gave up.
  1. One was too expensive.
  2. Another's printer didn't print grey ink. Uh, ok?!
  3. And my favorite had a women answer who laughed every time she coughed over the phone. Not only that, she couldn't remember my name after telling her 20 times. At the end of the conversation, she told me she would email me an estimate in a few minutes. Ten hours later... I got said estimate. Not sure what happened there but I wasn't about to put my wedding invitations in her hand. Come on lady!
So what did I do? Saved money of course. However, time was not saved!
Yep - we designed, printed, cut and everything ourselves!

By the way Lord, have I thanked you lately for giving me the most laid back man? Instead of sighing when I was annoyed and told him that we would do it all ourselves, he said , "What can I do to help?" Yep ladies. He helped through the whole process! As he should. I'm not marrying myself, right? ;)

Our night included me making last minute edits, printing, cutting and then handing them off to Jordan to round out the corners. And VOILA! Making our invitations a grand total of $17.00. Only because I got the cutter for 40% off. HA! Biggest cheap ass award goes to me. ;)

As of tonight, they are all stuffed, addressed, and stamped. Ready to be delivered to our wonderful wedding guests.

Regan (my 8 year old sister) took this picture. It was a family affair!
And every two minutes my brother, Cameron (who is 16 going on 5) kept asking questions...
"What is this little card for?"
It's the RSVP card Cameron.
"Why are we putting your return address on it?"
Because they are going to send it back to me.
"What! Why didn't you just email them and make it faster"
Thankfully my Dad chimed in with a, "Cameron. Stop talking."
But the questions never stopped. I can't wait until Cameron get's married. You just wait brotha.

Now, as much as I want to post a picture of our invites, I'm holding back. I don't want our guests to see them here before they get them in the mail. So you will all  have to wait.
Until then, I hope you all had a fantastic night and a wonderful Thursday!

Happy April Fools Day!

Happy April Fools!
Hope you are all pranking your loved ones!

I'll admit, I'm not the biggest April Fools fan. I like the idea but I'm terrible at pranking and joking. I think it's because I have a very dry sense of humor. What is funny to me may not be funny to others. ;) Jordan on the other hand, pranks pretty well. He came home from work today and filled me in on a big prank he was involved in. I have to say, best prank I've heard of all day! BY FAR!

Jordan has been doing a little construction lately and today was his first day meeting all the guys. Although he was the newbie, the guys didn't hesitate getting him involved on pranking one of the other fella's.

First I need to fill you in on the back story. Let's call him Sam. Well, Sam just started dating a girl (we will call her April) and is crazy about her. Apparently, Sam texts April all day while he's working and the guys have started giving him a hard time about it.

Here's where Jordan comes in. They all thought it would be funny to have Jordan pretend that him and April have been in a long-term relationship and that Sam is now dating Jordan's longtime love. Small world right? ;) It even went as far as filling Jordan in on where she's from, where she works, and even the fact that she spent the last few months in New York.

Here's the fun part. Jordan and Sam ended up working side by side all day. What comes with working with someone new all day? Small talk, of course. So naturally Sam asked Jordan questions...a lot of questions. These were a few of those questions:

Sam: Are you seeing anyone?
Jordan: Yeah, her name is April.
Sam: Oh ya, where is she from?
Jordan: She's originally from Little Rock.
Sam: So, where does April work?
Jordan: She works at XYZ as a so and so.
Sam: No way, I have a girlfriend named April who's from Little Rock and works at XYZ .
Jordan: Whoa, really? That's crazy. Yeah - she just got back from New York after a few months. Now we're looking for a place together.

Finally, Sam caught on and thankfully yelled (while laughing of course) "Hilarious guys!!"
So glad he has a great sense of humor! :)

Hope you all end your April Fools day on a high, funny note!
